Mac Gets 80's New Wave Props With Human League Cameo
by , 10:00 AM EST, November 25th, 2003
Australian IT has reported a Mac sighting at the Here and Now 80's music festival last week. The 80's New Wave band Human League were seen displaying an Apple laptop on stage during their set. From the article:
On the evidence presented to Open Source last week at 1980s music fest Here and Now, the humble computer has finally taken its rightful place in the pantheon of rock 'n' roll - or at least pop music.
While all bands these days use computers in the studio and many do so for stage shows, they are usually hidden away — to maintain the illusion, no doubt.
But sitting in pride of place on the sensationally minimalist set of electro-pop legends Human League was a gleaming Apple laptop, flouro green logo and all.

The Mac Observer Spin:
You really haven't made your mark on the world without a proud nod from New Wavers Human League. It's nice to see that quality electronic music can still survive these days, and Apple helps make that possible. Hopefully when grunge makes it's comeback with gen-Xers in a few years, the Mac can fill it's rightfull spot onstage with the Sreaming Trees or the Soup Dragons.Observer Comments
